Creating Safe Lawns for Dogs
Greenwise is an organic lawn care company, so clearly we care about safe lawns for our environment. But, dogs are right up there, too! If you are a dog owner, you know your dog’s snout is always rooting around in the grass, sniffing out scents! That’s why it’s so important to ensure your lawn and the lawns in your neighborhood are pesticide free. In fact, just walking on a lawn that’s been treated with chemicals can cause rashes and allergic reactions to a dog’s paws.
Since we want dogs to be safe outdoors, it’s only natural that we would help sponsor the Hinsdale Humane Society, as a way to introduce ourselves to the new community we are serving surrounding the Hinsdale, Western Springs, La Grange and Brookfield areas.
Sponsoring Summer Camp for Kids to Learn about Animals
This summer, we are co-sponsoring its popular summer kids camp. How great that kids will be able to enjoy summer camp this year where they’ll learn pet care basics, build adaptation skills, discuss resilience, play social-distancing games, and enjoy hands-on time interacting with pets within a safe, welcoming, together-apart camp setting.
Greenwise will also participate in the camp’s environment day where we’ll teach the kids about pollinators and native plants, and why we don’t want pesticides hurting our pets, ourselves, or our pollinators. Our hope is to grow future environmental stewards!
The Hinsdale Humane Society’s vision is to prevent animal suffering and neglect throughout our community and beyond and to ensure that all animals in shelters and homes are well cared for and treated with compassion. We applaud their mission and are honored to sponsor their efforts!
