What Is the Talking Farm?

Have you heard about the Talking Farm? Talking Farm runs a local urban farm called the Howard Street Farm, where they grow produce for local restaurants and farmer’s markets. Plus, they educate the community about the importance of growing food sustainably. Did you know they produce over 21,000 pounds of sustainably-grown produce for the community every year?

We Value Sustainability

Greenwise and the Talking Farm both care about how we treat the environment. That’s why we try to engage with our land in the most sustainable way possible, whether it’s on the farm or in your yard.

We value education. Because of that, we work hard to educate our community about how we can all be more sustainable in our gardening practices. Whether you’ve got a vegetable or flower garden, how you take care of it matters. Being sustainable includes choosing the best plants and choosing organics to help those plants grow and flourish, which in turn helps create biodiversity, and keeps us safe from pesticides and other dangerous chemicals.

“Over the years, Greenwise has donated the use of their equipment, including tillers, pickup trucks, dump trucks, and a bobcat. They also drop off leaves in the fall and spread them on our fields to provide mulch for our crops. We are very grateful to the support and help that Greenwise continues to give to The Talking Farm.”

– Matthew Ryan, Farm Operations Manager
