Meet Our Landscape Design Team
Heather is a Certified Landscape Designer through the Association of Landscape Designers (APLD) since 1997. Her focus has been on residential landscape design, including hardscapes, plantings and perennial gardens. She has worked on everything from a small city bungalow to a multi-acre national historic landmark property on the north shore. Three of her projects have won ILCA Excellence in Landscape Awards.
As the Design Team Coordinator, Heather incorporates this experience as she works with our design team to guide and coordinate the entire process, from the first consult through the installation.
Christoph "Chris" Odenthal
Christoph received his MA in Landscape Architecture from the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany in 2018 while designing private gardens for his own firm. While working and studying in Germany and Italy, he won numerous prizes and honors, including a scholarship from the German government (Deutschlandstipendium) for his outstanding accomplishments in Urban Design.
Early on, Chris completed a landscaping apprenticeship that taught him practical and creative approaches to open space design that greatly influence his work as a designer today. Now, Chris specializes in sustainable, climate-friendly design while emphasizing creative ways to integrate water into urban and public spaces.
Brennan’s inspiration for landscape design comes from his background in art & design with a focus on painting. For several years he worked at the Chicago Botanic Garden, where he cultivated his passion for landscape design. He began as a paid intern and was quickly hired as an assistant horticulturist where he supervised landscape maintenance crews, as well as designed, installed and maintained the Garden’s stunning annual displays.
Brennan’s background also includes working in the private sector for a design-build firm and finally landing here at Greenwise to help us continue creating beautiful, sustainable landscape designs.
Gannon is an associate designer for Greenwise. He has an Associates degree in Landscape Contracting and Management with a focus in design and has been working professionally in the green industry for the past several years.
When designing, much of Gannon's inspiration comes from both nature itself and the main principles of design. Utilizing color, texture and form to not only create a great looking landscape, but a functional one as well. For his clients he hopes to create a project that works in real life, not just on paper. A project that is sustainable and lasts for many years to come.
Gannon's favorite plant is Penstemon digitalis ‘Dark Towers’ because it looks great throughout the whole year with pink blooms in spring, dark foliage in summer and interesting seed pods throughout winter.
Gannon is fueled by his passion of design and plant sciences. You can always find him going to botanic gardens, researching new horticulture and design techniques or working on his own home garden.
