As a next-door neighbor to Evanston Township High School, Greenwise is proud to be a business partner with the Mayor's Employer Advisory Council, also known as MEAC. This program helps high school students who do not have a clear path to higher education discover meaningful careers for themselves.
Supporting Student Career Development
The Mayor's Employer Advisory Council, or MEAC, works to help high school students explore career opportunities and gain real-world experience. The goal is to help students who may not have a clear path to higher education discover meaningful careers that align with their interests and skills.
Greenwise participates in MEAC because we believe in supporting young people as they explore career options and gain experience that can help them make informed decisions about their futures.
Opportunities Beyond Traditional Roles
Despite being a small lawn care and landscaping design firm, Greenwise can offer a lot of opportunities for young people that go beyond working as lawn care workers or snow removal employees. Our firm was started by a young entrepreneur who can offer tons of insight and advice to any budding business owner.
Students interested in shadowing a landscape designer or working as an intern can find opportunities with Greenwise. Those interested in learning about careers in sales, customer service, or accounting can also gain experience, as small businesses like ours have a lot to offer young people outside of the services we sell.
Real-World Experience
Through MEAC, students can gain real-world experience in various aspects of running a small business. This experience can help them understand different career paths and develop skills that will serve them well regardless of what direction they choose.
Greenwise is committed to providing meaningful experiences that help students explore career options and develop skills that will benefit them in their future endeavors.
Community Partnership
Being located next to Evanston Township High School makes our participation in MEAC a natural fit. This proximity allows us to easily work with students and provide opportunities that might not be available through larger, more distant businesses.
Our participation in MEAC reflects our commitment to supporting the Evanston community and helping young people explore career opportunities.
Growing Future Professionals
Through MEAC, Greenwise has the opportunity to help grow future professionals, whether they choose careers in landscaping, business, or other fields. The experience and insights we can share help students make more informed decisions about their career paths.
Greenwise is proud to participate in the Mayor's Employer Advisory Council and to support students as they explore career opportunities and gain valuable real-world experience.
