Adopt a Park

As part of Greenwise's commitment to providing pesticide-free parks in Evanston, we are committed to helping keep those parks clean. Once a month, our Greenwise team heads out to Burnham Shores Park on the lakefront and we pick up litter.

Monthly Park Cleanup

Our Adopt a Park program involves monthly visits to Burnham Shores Park, one of Evanston's pesticide-free parks that Greenwise maintains. During these visits, our team picks up litter, helping to keep the park clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy.

Sometimes, we are rewarded by getting dive bombed by red-winged blackbirds who think we are getting too close to their young, and sometimes we are rewarded by a random smile, words of thanks, or someone handing us a discarded drink that they found. Either way, it is a wonderful way to get out and enjoy our pesticide-free park for an hour.

Giving Back to Our Community

Our Adopt a Park program allows us to give back to our community by helping to keep these beloved parks litter-free. This monthly commitment reflects our dedication to maintaining the pesticide-free parks that we help care for through our partnership with the City of Evanston.

Community Involvement

Community members are welcome to join us for our monthly Adopt a Park cleanup. You will find us out there on the first Friday of every month from twelve to one PM at Burnham Shores Park in Evanston.

This program provides an opportunity for community members to participate in keeping our parks clean while supporting the pesticide-free parks program.
