As part of Greenwise’s commitment to providing pesticide-free parks in Evanston, we are committed to helping keep those parks clean.
Once a month, our Greenwise team heads out to Burnham Shores Park on the lakefront and we pick up litter. Sometimes, we are rewarded by getting dive bombed by red-winged blackbirds who think we are getting too close to their young, and sometimes we are rewarded by a random smile, words of thanks, or someone handing us a discarded drink that they found.
Either way, it’s a wonderful way to get out and enjoy our pesticide-free park for an hour, give back to our community by helping to keep these beloved parks litter-free, and a chance for us to be together and feel good about serving the community we care so deeply about.
