As predicted, the freezing rain has turned to heavy snowfall with accumulation reaching the trigger necessary to activate our snow removal service routes at 2 this afternoon. At that time, our crews began servicing properties with the goal of completing all of our routes within 8 hours.
The current forecast is for continued heavy snowfall until 9 p.m. with accumulation of 3 to 4 inches. Overnight, the snowfall will continue but the rates will drop off to lighter snow. Light snow will continue through midday on Wednesday with another 1 to 2 inches of accumulation expected.
We will continue to rerun our service routes throughout this event as necessary.
Our Greenwise Snowline at (224) 577-9473 is now active and will remain so for the duration of the event, so please do not hesitate to call us with your questions, concerns or special requests.
A recurring issue this winter has been city plows pushing snow onto areas, such as garage aprons off alleys, that we have previously cleared. If this happens, please call us on the Snowline and we will send a crew back out to clear it again as soon as possible.
We will be continually monitoring the situation and updating you via email when conditions warrant it.
