Nutsedge in Your Grass?

Nutsedge looks like grass, but it grows faster, so it will be a few inches taller than your grass. It also grows in bunches and is usually a lighter yellowish-green color.
Nutsedge is difficult to get rid of because it’s not a broadleaf weed, and so doesn’t respond to our weed management program, but we are researching effective treatments that are safe and organic.
If you think you have it, please let us know and one of our experts will come out and take a look and advise you on the next steps.
Typically, it needs to be dug up and the area needs to be re-seeded. The problem is if you try to dig it up yourself and don’t get all of it, nutsedge will come back in triple force next year. Ugh.
The good news is with proper watering and fertilization, your lawn will rebound. Call us at 847.866.1930 and we will help you find a solution to your nutsedge problem.
